Each year, the National Office works with local businesses around the convention location to provide deals and discounts to our National Convention attendees. It is our goal to support the local Louisville economy while welcoming visitors from all across the country.

Carnegie Center for Art & History

The Carnegie Center for Art and History, a branch of the Floyd County Public Library, serves as a cultural resource for the education and enjoyment of the citizens of Floyd County and the surrounding metro area. To fulfill that mission we collect, preserve, and interpret the history and heritage of Floyd County; promote an appreciation of and participation in the visual arts; and preserve the historic Carnegie Library building in which the museum is housed.

Filson Historical Society

The Filson Historical Society, founded in 1884, is a privately supported historical society dedicated to collecting, preserving, and sharing the significant history and culture of Kentucky and the Ohio Valley. We have served the public through our extensive and historic collections of original manuscripts, letters, diaries, photographs, architectural records, rare imprints, books, maps, newspapers, textiles, portraits, and other three-dimensional items. Our collections form a regional educational resource that attracts national and international researchers.

The Filson is located at 1310 S. 3rd Street and its operating hours are Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4:30 pm. We offer free, guided tours every weekday at 2:00 pm. On this 45–60-minute tour, visitors will tour the campus, including the historic Ferguson Mansion and Wood Carriage House, and the 2016 addition to our campus, the Owsley Brown II History Center. Registration is required for these tours. Walk-ins are welcome, but capacity is restricted. Frazier History Museum

The Frazier History Museum is where the world meets Kentucky. Located in downtown Louisville, the Frazier documents stories from history using artifacts, exhibitions, and guided tours.

Full Throttle Adrenaline Park

This world-class family theme park and water park combo is located in Santa Claus, Indiana. Kentucky Science Center

The Kentucky Science Center participates in Louisville Tourism’s Show Us Your Badge program, which means that they give the group rate to anyone who shows their convention badge.

Currently their group rates are: Exhibits $18 Movie $5 Combo $23

All National Beta attendees will be eligible for the group rate as long as they are able to show their badge on site. If possible, please try to coordinate visits in groups of 10 or more to ensure proper staffing and materials and assist with faster group payment processing. KMAC Museum

About KMAC: KMAC is a contemporary art museum on Louisville’s Museum Row. Admission to KMAC is free for children and students and supported by their members, The Fund for the Arts, and the Kentucky Arts Council. Exhibition support is provided by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

Teachers and students are always free! All other attendees are $4 with their National Convention badge at the door.


Little Loomhouse

The Little Loomhouse is a historical site and one of the few remaining, thriving, weaving communities in the state. They maintain a classroom of looms, so anyone visiting can weave a piece to take home. Their programs are appropriate for ages 6 yrs through adult. In addition to textile arts, they preserve local history, including the origin of the “Happy Birthday Song”. They can provide a group discount rate of $10 per person, which would include a historical tour and mini-weaving lesson where participants can take home a coaster they have woven. Tickets may be purchased at the door and the discount rate provided by mentioning the National Beta Convention. If you have a group of 10 or more, please call in advance to schedule a tour time. Hours of operation are Tues-Fri 10am-3pm and Sat 11am-4pm. They accept cash, check, or charge.

The Loomhouse has very limited parking. They strongly encourage groups to carpool.

Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory

Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory is all about celebrating the extraordinary role of Louisville Slugger in baseball’s past, present and future. They exist to delight guests and create joyful, lifetime memories.

National Convention attendees will receive $1 off admission with the mention of the National Beta event at the door. Any large group of 10 or more should schedule in advance by calling 502-588-7227.

Lucky Cat Cafe

KENTUCKY’S ONLY NONPROFIT CAT CAFÉ

Learn about them here!

Lucky Cat Cafe is unique because it is located in a historic, 1,000 SF house and can hold 16 max visitors at a time. Each visit is one hour to pet and play with cats. The Cafe usually has 12 to 15 cats/kittens at a time. All cats have their shots, healthy, seen by a vet, and altered. Children aged 6+ welcome with a supervising adult.

Ovrdrive

Riverside, the Farnsley-Moreman Landing

Standing atop a gentle rise overlooking the Ohio River, the Farnsley-Moremen House is the centerpiece of a 300-acre historic site in Louisville, Kentucky, called Riverside, the Farnsley-Moremen Landing. Built circa 1837, the house stands as a testament to the important role agriculture along the river played in the development of our country.

**National attendees are being offered a unique, hands-on History & Archaeology Experience to participate and dig with professional archaeologists from Kentucky Archaeological Survey on a dig real site. Registrants will also tour the restored Farnsley-Moremen House, interpreting life on the Ohio in the 1830’s and the 1880’s. **

Vintage Fire Museum and Safety Education Center

The Vintage Fire Museum, offers fire safety education, vintage equipment showing the history of firefighting in america, and a commitment to honoring firefighters. They will gladly provide $1 off ticket admission on site with the mention of the National Beta Convention.
