Junior Songfest
Onsite Only Competition
Songfest is a competition in which a club rewrites a song to incorporate the 2022 - 2023 Theme: Power of Beta. This competition gives clubs the opportunity to showcase creativity and innovation, performing arts and interpretation of the theme. A club may have only one entry. Stage is not accessible to any school group except during performance time.
Time Limit: 3 Minutes
Competition Guidelines
- The Songfest entry must incorporate the 2022 - 2023 Theme: Power of Beta. Interpretation of the theme must be evident throughout the club’s performance.
- The time limit for the performance is 3 minutes.
- Props are not permitted.
- Stationary movements will be allowed. This means that the students’ feet must remain in place during the performance. Examples of stationary movement are, but not limited to, clapping, finger snapping, swaying and simple gestures that enhance the lyrics.
- Matching shirts, pants, shorts, skirts or school uniforms will be allowed.
- Costumes are not permitted.
- All club members on stage must sing. A maximum of three handheld mics will be permitted.
- No background vocals are allowed on the accompaniment track. This means no words or computerized/synthesized voices on the accompaniment track.
- Risers are not permitted.
- Clubs must provide a copy of the original lyrics and rewritten lyrics to the coordinator at the time of the performance.
