Senior Competitions

State Conventions include onsite only competitions and online only competitions. In the event that a state convention has to be virtual only, all competitions will be offered virtually.

Types of Competitions:

  • Onsite Competition = A competition that can only be completed at an onsite convention.
  • Online Competition = A competition that will exclusively be conducted virtually.

Academics

Agriscience Biomedical French Health and Physical Education Language Arts Math Psychology Science Social Studies Spanish Spelling U.S. History

Individual Competition - You may enter one student in each grade level (9th, 10th, 11th, 12th) per content area.

Book Battle

Team Competition - You may enter one team.

Creative Writing

Individual Competition - You may enter one student in both Divisions I and II.

Digital Portfolio

Club Competition - You may have one entry in Senior.

Poetry

Individual Competition - You may enter one student in both Divisions I and II.

Technology

Club Competition - You may have one entry.

Written Musicology

Team Competition - You may have one entry in.

Written Quiz Bowl

Team Competition - You may have one entry.

Accessorized Design

Club Competion - You may have one entry.

Apparel Design

Club Competition - You may have one entry.

Candidate / Campaign Skit

Please check with your state’s specific guidelines. You may enter one student as a candidate. Anyone in your club can be involved in the campaign skit and campaigning.

President - 10th or 11th Grade

Vice President - 10th or 11th Grade

Secretary - 10th or 11th Grade

Club Trading Pin

Club Competition - You may have one entry.

Engineering

Team Competition - You may have one team.

Living Literature

Club Competition - You may have one entry.

Marketing and Communications

Team Competition - You may have one team.

Onsite Art

Individual Competition - You may enter one student in both Divisions I and II for each category: Drawing and Painting.

Onsite Cake Decorating

Individual Competition - You may enter one student in Senior.

Oral Musicology

Team Competition - You may have one team.

Performing Arts

Club Competition - A club may participate in both Solo, Duo, Trio and Group.

Performing Arts Group will have two categories - Small Group (4-12 students) & Large Group (13+). You may have one entry in EITHER Small or Large Group.

Performing Arts Solo, Duo, Trio will have four categories - Dancer, Instrumentalist, Vocalist, & Variety Act. You may have one entry in ONLY ONE category.

Quiz Bowl Oral Rounds

Team Competition - You may have one team.

Robotics Showcase

Team Competition - You may have one team.

Scrapbook

Club Competition - You may have one entry.

Service Learning Showcase

Club Competition - You may have one entry.

Show Choir

Club Competition - You may have one entry.

Speech

Individual Competition - You may enter one student in both Divisions I and II.

Three Dimensional Design

Club Competition - You may have one entry.

Two Dimensional Design

Club Competition - You may have one entry.

Visual Arts

Individual Competition - You may enter only one student in per Senior Division in one of the following categories: Black and White Photography, Color Photography, Digital Art, Digitally Enhanced Photography, Drawing, Fiber Arts, Hand-drawn Anime, Jewelry, Mixed Media, Painting, Pottery, Quilling, Sculpture, Recyclable Art, or Woodworking.
