Convention Invention
Teams of 2 to 4 students will present an original invention. The team will develop an invention and bring to the convention to share with others. Electricity and internet will not be provided. **Design must be completed prior to convention. **
Each club may register one team for this exhibition. Exhibition is limited to the first 100 clubs that register for National Convention. Register early in order to ensure your club’s participation.
Competition Guidelines
- Prior to convention, teams of 2 to 4 students will invent and construct an original design using any materials.
- Designs will be displayed and judged during the exhibition at the designated time listed in the schedule.
- One invention per team.
- Invention must not exceed 48in. x 48in. x 48in.
- No combustible materials may be used.
- Electricity and internet will not be provided.
- Liquids of any kind may not be used.
Invention must fit into one of the following categories:
- Consumer Products - Products that increase quality of life in the workplace, at home, during leisure time, or while traveling.
- Electronics & Sensors - Products that improve computing, communications, sensing, test, and other fields that rely on advances in electronic components, boards and systems; products that enable an interconnected world
- Sustainable Technologies - Products that reduce dependence on non-renewable energy resources, as well as products designed for other purposes using environmentally friendly materials or manufacturing processes.
Judging Criteria
Creativity of Solution - 20 pts. Collaboration and Communication - 20 pts. Details and design - 20 pts. Originality of Project - 20 pts. Overall Functionality of Invention - 20 pts.
